Deepen your knowledge of
the building blocks of good writing

We all write. It isn’t easy, and no one really wants to read what you write. There is information overflow and readers are all busy. They want to know what’s in it for them. If they can’t find an answer quickly, they will move on. Don’t start with a lot of background and detail. Get to the point.

Try writing like journalists do, try the inverted pyramid style. It aims to push the main message, be it news or an action point, into the mind of the reader quickly. The rest of the information is delivered step by step in order of importance.

This course is based on editorial training methods in Reuters adapted to the business world. It will improve written communications, from email to major announcements.

Again, we all write. It isn’t easy, but this course will help you deepen your knowledge of the building blocks of good writing. It targets everyone who needs to communicate often with readers internally or externally, including communications managers, PR people, frontline staff and managers in general.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Define how to structure a communication to grab users' attention quickly.
